What is a bookmark?

Bookmark websites are websites that you can add to your browser's bookmarks for easy access. When you visit a bookmark website, the website's content is saved in your browser's temporary memory, so you can easily return to it later.

1. A bookmark, sometimes known as an electronic bookmark, is a means of preserving the address of a web page in an Internet browser. While using most browsers, hitting Ctrl+D bookmarks the current page. Click the Bookmark icon (star) icon (or a similar symbol) to the right of the address bar to bookmark a page. Bookmarks are referred to as favorites in Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Why should you make a bookmark?

A bookmark is useful when you find a web page that you want to remember and return to later. When you bookmark a web page, you establish a shortcut to that web page for rapid access. You may use that bookmark to see the web page again without having to search the Internet.

A bookmark link is another term for a named anchor when it comes to the Internet and HTML.

3. A bookmark is a feature in text editors such as Notepad++ that allows you to mark a line in order to conveniently locate it again later. With Notepad++, for example, you may add and remove bookmarks on the current line by pressing Ctrl+F2. A little blue dot shows next to the line number when it is bookmarked. When the file has bookmarks, hitting F2 cycles through each of them. Bookmarks make it simple to navigate through a file comprising hundreds of lines of text or code.

4. A bookmark is a function in word processing systems such as Microsoft Word that allows you to tag text, photos, charts, or other items in order to conveniently discover and read them again later. For example, if a Word document has a chart that you find really useful, you may bookmark it. When you need to refer to that chart again, open the Word document and use the bookmark to easily find it.
